What is an Escape Room?
The concept of an escape room came from several different sources including live action role playing games (LARP), interactive theater, puzzle and scavenger hunts and online escape room point and click games which have been popular for over twenty years.
In 2007, an "escape game" started in Japan, expanded quickly throughout Asia and into Europe, the "live" escape room challenges have gained tremendous popularity (bordering on addiction) and have recently spread to the United States. In a nutshell, you and your teammates are locked in a room and must work together to find a way out within 60 minutes through clues, puzzles and hints supplied solely by investigating your surroundings.
So bring your inner Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Lizbeth Salander, Miss Marple or Nancy Drew and dare to escape the 'Burg! (what locals colloquially call St. Petersburg)
